desperate need of
major rebuilding work
including structural
strengthening to the
bell-tower, and
restoring the fresco.

opportunity for those of

something tangible to
future generations.

In 1665 Yaroslavl masons carried and
laid over 1.5 million bricks by hand to
build the Nikola Mokry church, but we
don't expect you to do that! We would
like you to sponsor Virtual Bricks !!!

We are offering you the opportunity of purchasing virtual bricks, at a cost of
only Ł1.00 each. All of the proceeds will be used to restore the building to its
former glory. There is no upper limit to the number of bricks you may
purchase, anything from one brick, five bricks, ten bricks, even a million if
you wish! It is entirely up to you.

The names of each purchaser with the amount of bricks purchased will be
entered into a book of celebration, which will be kept on display in the
church. In addition, on the last Saturday of May of 2010, when Yaroslavl
celebrates its 1,000th birthday, a service of celebration and rememberance
will be held at the Nikola Mokry church. After the ceremony a time capsule
containg the details of each purchaser will be placed under the church floor,
with the instruction that it will lie undisturbed until Yaroslavl's next
millennium in 3010.
